Serving at the Home Office
You can become involved in clerical and data entry opportunities at Write-Way by serving at the main office in Garland, TX. No prison visitation is provided; however, volunteers may participate in other programs like Bill Glass or Kairos that go into prisons.
Serving as a Grader
Graders, serve through remote “Branch” churches to counsel student by responding to the twelve essays questions on each exam. Graders are the key to the effectiveness of the ministry of making disciples and becoming a disciple of Christ yourself. Exams are distributed to Branches and individuals who complete their comments with a one week turn around. This allows a quick turn around so students can receive their next course. Students are assigned two courses at a time to keep them busy as they work through the 60 course curriculum.
How do prisoners learn about the courses?
Enrollment cards accompany all books sent to the inmates. Chaplains also distribute the cards, but students play a key role through their testimony and passing out enrollment cards to their friends. But most importantly, the growth of the ministry lies in God’s work to extend and grow Christ’s Church.
The graphic below depicts the process of enrollments, distribution of the courses through the postal system and final completion of the program. Contact Write-Way to join our team as an individual volunteer or through your local church.
