Emmaus Worldwide
Write-Way is part of Emmaus Worldwide (see www.emmausworldwide.org) of Dubuque, IA. The school has existed since 1942 and provides Bible correspondence studies internationally in 84 languages in over 100 countries, primarily to missionaries and their field churches. They also provide the studies to the USA domestic population and churches for a fee. Those fees help subsidize the free courses to prisoners.
Emmaus currently oversees 32 state coordinators in the prison program who provide a study curriculum for the prisoners in their particular states. Each state uses the Emmaus courses and may use additional materials such as the Navigator discipleship courses. Each state coordinator designs their own curriculum and raises funds to support the outreach. All staff and graders/counselors are volunteers.
